How We Curate Vintage Collections
Every collection begins with a concept. Sometimes we're inspired by a place, or more of a feeling.
From there, we source slowly and intentionally, gathering pieces from near and far which encapsulate our vision. Each object is chosen not only for how it looks, but for the atmosphere it carries. We love texture, history and are always sure to note down any details on the life it has already lived.
The result is a cohesive and considered collection, which brings a layered, lived in presence to your home.
Once we have gathered a collection, each piece is cleaned and prepared for its next chapter with you.
We will bring you styling inspiration for that collection on instagram @plumehomeware, so you can see how we envisaged the pieces bringing character to your home.
A day or two before a collection release, we will offer a preview window at our website.
During the preview of a collection, you will be able to view the dimensions and details of each piece, so you know which are perfect for your home.
The preview period is intended to let you consider the pieces before they are available. this encourages intentional purchasing.

The collection will open at the date and time we share in advance on Instagram and through email notifications to those subscribed.
The collection will remain available for a short time, until the chapter naturally comes to a close with the pieces finding their place with you.
Every vintage collection is a considered release of limited quantity and our pieces tend to find their forever homes quickly.
Our Design Process
Every plume design begins with an idea or vision from one of us (Jordyn & Kirstin, best friends & co-founders).
These are always inspired by the materials & details we are drawn to when sourcing vintage.
From there, each piece is discussed and developed by us. Sketches, hours of discussion and collaboration result in a concept that feels distinctly Plume.
We work closely with skilled makers around the world, partnering according to their expertise in particular materials and forms to bring our idea to life.
While our designs are our own, bringing them to life is a collaborative process. We are incredibly proud of the skilled hands behind each piece and the relationships we continue to build with our manufacturing partners.
All pieces go through rounds of sampling, refinement and adjustment until our vision is executed.
Once complete, our pieces arrive to us, to be individually checked before making their way into your home.
Just like with our vintage collections, we will offer a preview window of our own designs for a number of days prior to launch.
This allows you to understand details, materials and product care prior to purchasing.
